Experience Dyslexia

A Learning Disabilities Simulation

Part of the IDA-RMB Professional Development Program

expdysunderstand

Ever wondered what it’s truly like to learn with dyslexia? Ready to transform your understanding of the students you support?

Step beyond wondering and into authentic understanding. This powerful, hands-on experience reveals the daily realities students with language-based learning differences navigate—from decoding text to processing instructions. You’ll gain profound insights into why students respond the way they do, replacing frustration with empathy and confusion with clarity.

More than just awareness, you’ll leave equipped with practical strategies and a renewed perspective that will help you understand the power of Structured Literacy and change how you support and connect with diverse learners.

Join us for the Experience Dyslexia™ Simulation—where empathy meets action.

Want to bring Experience Dyslexia to your group or school?

Simulation events in Colorado can be booked through the Rocky Mountain Branch of the IDA. Events include materials, a dyslexia presentation and a trained facilitator. We recommend a two-hour block of time but can adapt the training to meet your needs.
The cost for us to bring Experience Dyslexia to your group is $250. There is an additional charge for mileage (standard rate) for locations more than 50 miles from Denver. Lodging for facilitators is also a potential additional cost if needed. Scholarships may be available.

If you are interested in learning more about holding a simulation, please email us at ida_rmb@yahoo.com with the following information:

  • Your Name, Email Address, and Phone Number
  • Organization Name
  • Location
  • Target Audience (teachers, community, students, etc.)
  • Estimated number of attendees
  • Requested Date(s)
  • Requested Start and Stop Times
    • Please note that most of our volunteers are educators, therefore staffing a simulation during the work day will be more difficult for us to accommodate. Thank you for understanding!

A member of our Professional Development Committee will contact you to answer questions and help coordinate your event.

We look forward to working with you!
