A Learning Disabilities Simulation
Part of the IDA-RMB Professional Development Program
What is Experience Dyslexia®?
This simulation lets participants experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with language-based learning differences. Participants are guided through six learning tasks commonly encountered in the classroom or workplace. These activities are followed by a group discussion focusing on experiences shared and lessons learned, as well as practical tips, accommodations and interventions for the classroom.
(Tissues available at all simulations.)
Want to bring Experience Dyslexia® to your group or school?
Simulation events in Colorado can be booked through the Rocky Mountain Branch of the IDA. Events include materials, a dyslexia presentation and a trained facilitator. We recommend a two-hour block of time but can adapt the training to meet your needs.
The cost for us to bring Experience Dyslexia® to your group is $250. There is an additional charge for mileage (standard rate) for locations more than 50 miles from Denver. Lodging for facilitators is also a potential additional cost if needed. Scholarships may be available.
