What is a “Virtually Dyslexic” Simulation?

This simulation lets participants in many locations experience some of the hardships, challenges, and frustrations faced by people with language-based learning differences, through the magic of the internet!

Participants are guided virtually through a variety of commonly encountered tasks. These activities are followed by a group discussion focusing on experiences shared and lessons learned, as well as practical tips, and common accommodations & interventions for the classroom.

With the use of minimal supplies, an internet connection, and a device with a mic and speakers that can successfully run a Zoom conference, our IDA-RMB simulation leaders will enhance your understanding of dyslexia, and perhaps engender a greater appreciation for the daily life of someone with learning difficulties.

We are greatly appreciative of the team of volunteers and Rocky Mountain Branch Board Members who graciously devoted their time and energy to creating and testing this virtual simulation during these challenging times!
